Adult Bible Study – The Rest of God

Time: Friday Mornings, 10:00 AM
Contact Person: Heather Westlake – (208) 773-2509
Location: This group meets in the Conference room.
Description: Come join us on Friday mornings beginning April 21 at 10:00 a.m. at CPC in the Conference Room as we begin a new study, The Rest of God by Mark Buchanan. Mark Buchanan says that the Sabbath is essential to our full humanity and faith. God set forth a rhythm of work and rest that, if restored to our lives, will bring prolonged life, enriched relationships, increased fruitfulness, and abundant joy. For the majority of us who have endless demands and stifling daily routines, discovering the “rest of God” is the solution to “not enough time.” While the theme of this book is the Sabbath that God calls us to, it is really more about applying that as an attitude for our whole lives and making more of the time we are given here on earth. Contact Heather Westlake for a book or with questions.

Women’s Bible Study –  Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World

Time: Wednesday Mornings, 10 AM
Contact Person: Eveyln Tabert  (208) 773-3162
Location: This group meets in Conference room off the Sanctuary.
Description: The life of a woman today isn’t really all that different from that of Mary and Martha in the New Testament. Like Mary, you long to sit at the Lord’s feet…but the daily demands of a busy world just won’t leave you alone. Like Martha, you love Jesus and really want to serve him…yet you struggle with weariness, resentment, and feelings of inadequacy. Then comes Jesus, who invites us to choose “the better part”—a joyful life of “living-room” intimacy with him that flows naturally into “kitchen service” for him. Weaver shows how we all can draw closer to our Lord, deepen our devotion, strengthen our service, and do all of these with less stress and greater joy. Contact Evelyn Tabert for a book or with questions.
